Untitled Elements are paintings inside cabinets in the house. The idea came from one of my mom’s interior design friends who thought it would be really interesting to paint inside the cabinets in the dinning room. There were four cabinets, two on one side, two on the other, and I wanted to play around with the idea of the four elements, or the four seasons, and the colors that I was drawn to. I started with green, orange, yellow, and blue on top of a burgundy red base, and after the first layer of paint, they were almost done, but as I added more and more, it shifted. It was a messy and tight process painting a couple feet off the ground and inside a cabinet, but it was really fun and different, and I’m excited for any future opportunities that might bring about painting in interesting places!
