Colors by Moonlight (2015-2016) 3’ x 4’

Colors by Moonlight was a commission that took me a little while because I had an idea of what colors would fit for the space versus what the client wanted. So it took me a while reconcile those two things into what it became.

My Rainbow Row

My Rainbow Row

My Rainbow Row (2013) 1’8” x 1’4”

My Rainbow Row came about because my mom wanted a version of Rainbow Row for the house. Up until this point most of my work was very abstract, and I couldn’t quite figure out how I wanted to do it. But I just threw down some paint and let it evolved from there.

“For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity” Jean Dubuffet

Sun Storm

Sun Storm (2014) 4’ x 1’

Sun Storm started off in the blues, and much lighter in feeling. It wasn’t until I added the darker blues that it turned into something a little more ominous looking than I originally intended.

“Great things are not done by impulse, but a series of small things brought together” Vincent Van Gogh

“Art, freedom, and creativity will change society faster than politics” Victor Pinchuk

Down Pour

Like several of my paintings, Down Pour started out differently that it turned out to be. The rain theme stuck from the beginning, but another one that ended up with a darker tone than I anticipated.

Haze

Haze (2012-2019) 1’4”x1’

Haze was almost finished in 2012, but there was always something missing to me that I couldn’t put my finger on. It wasn’t until seven years later that a border and a brush of metallic completed it.

"You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." Maya Angelou

“Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced” Leo Tolstoy
